New & Familiar Faces Fill Vacated NCGA Seats

As positions open in the NCGA, new and former officials are appointed to fill their seats by Governor Roy Cooper.

After serving a single term as the District 37 Representative, Sydney Batch has been appointed to replace Senator Sam Searcy in District 17. James Roberson, the current Mayor of Knightdale, has also been appointed to replace Rep. Darren Jackson, the former House Minority Leader, as he joins the Court of Appeals.

With Senator Batch’s new position, all 37 UDC-supported candidates from the 2020 election cycle now hold office.
